Labour Common Councilmen Jason Pritchard and Munsur Ali have announced a new conversation club called ‘Happy to Chat’ which will start at 4pm on Wednesday 3rd May at the Artizan Street Library. This new club aims to bring people together, young and old, and to create dialogue and understanding between people. The Conversation club has been inspired by the Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness which aims to tackle the silent epidemic of loneliness.
Jo Cox put it perfectly, ‘young or old, loneliness doesn’t discriminate… it is something that many of us could easily help with. Looking in on a neighbour, visiting an elderly relative or making that call or visit we’ve been promising to a friend we haven’t seen in a long time.’
Loneliness can affect everyone at any stage of their life. You can be part of the solution by letting people know you are #HappytoChat.
All residents are invited to our ‘Happy to Chat’ conversation club. Come and meet other people and share your stories. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Time: 16:00pm – 17:00pm
Date: Wednesday 3rd May 2017
Location: Artizan St Library & Community Centre, 1 Artizan Street, London E1 7AF
Please RSVP to: Cllr Jason Pritchard, 17a Petticoat Tower or text 07834 342479 / email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The ‘Happy to Chat’ conversation club is being run in conjunction with International House London Social Programme department. We will be inviting some English students from the language school to participate.
