This new club aims to bring people together, young and old, and to create dialogue and understanding between people. Portsoken Labour Councillors announce new deal to offer English Practice lessons to residents

Develop and improve your English language skills with English Practice Lessons.

Councillors Jason Pritchard and Munsur Ali are pleased to announce an exclusive deal to offer low cost English lessons to Portsoken residents.

If English is not your first language you can now join low cost classes in Central London and learn English with trainee teachers who are learning to teach. You practise your English, they practise their teaching. The classes will be run in the afternoon and evening and your councillors have secured a 50% discount for any residents looking to register.

Classes can be booked in the afternoon:

Monday-Friday, 2 hours per day (1.30pm-3.30pm or 4.00pm-6.00pm)

and evening:

Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, 2 hours per day (6.30pm-8.30pm)

Next ‘Happy to Chat’ Conversation Club Date Announced

Following a very positive first ‘Happy to Chat’ Club earlier this month, Councillors Jason Pritchard and Munsur Ali are pleased to announce that the next session of this new social club will take place on Tuesday 16th May at the Kahaila Cafe in Portsoken.

‘Happy to Chat’ is a new conversation club in Aldgate that aims to bring people together, young and old, and to create dialogue and understanding between people. Come and meet other people and share your stories.

There will be hot drinks and cakes available to purchase in the café.

First ‘Happy to Chat’ Conversation Club is a big success!

Yesterday afternoon we had our first ‘Happy to chat’ conversation club in Portsoken. The afternoon was a real success and everyone seemed to enjoy it. This new club aims to bring people together, young and old, and to create dialogue and understanding between people from different backgrounds. The conversation club was inspired by the Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness which aims to tackle the silent epidemic of loneliness. Big thanks to James Lattimer and IH London students for their help in making the first session a big success! Watch this space for future dates!
